Let’s get prepared, people! I promise you there will be things that happen on your wedding day that will require a little foresight and preparedness. With a little planning, none of it will be a big deal because you’ll have the tools in hand to take care of it all.
Blister on your foot? Got a blister cushion and band aid right here. Shiny face? There’s some blotting papers handy. Bad breath before your big first kiss? Mints and gum to the rescue. Small rip in your wedding dress? Sewing kit coming right up.

Seriously, on your wedding day, you’ll want to be prepared for anything. With all the weddings I’ve been a part of, each one has had a special request come up. Sometimes it’s safety pins, or super glue, or a nail file. These small objects can be life savers in the moment.
Before the wedding, it’s a good practice to put together an emergency bag filled with items you may need. And if you don’t need them, that’s totally fine. Most of the items can be used later in life.
Here’s what I suggest you put in your emergency kit:
First Aid Items
- Blister cushions
- Band Aids
- Advil or other medicines
- Tums
Nail Care
- Clear Polish (can also be used for runs in stockings)
- Nail file
- Nail clippers
Skin Care
- Blotting papers
- Lotion (for both face and body)
- Acne spot treatment
Face and Mouth
- Mint / Gum
- Straws (save those lipstick lips!)
- Make Up Wipes
- Floss
- Chapstick
- Extra make up
Hair Care
- Hair ties
- Bobby pins
- Hair spray
- Comb or brush
Other
- Cash
- Deodorant
- Stain Remover
- Baby powder
- Super glue
- Tweezers
- Tissues
- Mini Sewing Kit
- Pen / Paper
- White Chalk
- Phone Chargers
- Safety Pins
- Light snacks
- Tape (scotch, duct, or masking)
- Scissors
- Feminine hygiene products
If you have the time, put everything in a basket for a nice display. If you’re in a rush, throw everything in a bag. Either way, you’ll be familiar with what’s there and can point someone in the right direction if an emergency comes up!
