Or, they need the money and want to sell what they own. It’s okay to buy a ring second hand, but always ask for the paperwork for the ring, or have it appraised by a professional, before you commit. 3. SEE IF THERE’S A FAMILY HEIRLOOM THAT CAN BE YOUR WEDDING RING

I don’t know about you, but there’s been some jewelry passed through my family. Also known as “family heirlooms”.

It just doesn’t have the flashiness that can cause a ring to be pricier. Even if a wedding band only has the micropavé on half of it, the price can add up.
